Welcome and thank you for your interest. This site provides information on the roles of Chief Executive and Executive Director, Children’s Services.
Both roles play a key strategic role within the Council. Working alongside colleagues in the wider Corporate Management Team, you will be tasked with delivering our Corporate Plan and vision for Walsall and the people we serve. People and places are important to us.
You will join a forward thinking, proactive team, committed to ensuring our positive change programme and momentum of improvement continues at pace, through active engagement with partners and stakeholders across the region. You will need the ability to influence, maintain and develop these critical relationships which will allow us to deliver excellent services both now and in the future.
Walsall has come a long way recently and we have made significant progress and improvements across our services in challenging times. We have achieved this through our collective determination, commitment and purpose in delivering the best services possible for our citizens. For our young people, we want them to be the very best they can be aspiring, achieving and ambitious about themselves now and in the future.
Like many other councils, we still face some major challenges around our finances but despite this we continue to ensure we are able to deliver services that reflect the direct needs of our citizens; that deliver the outcomes we seek, that unlock opportunity and are sustainable. Significant as these challenges of reshaping public services are, we in Walsall are up to them.
You will need to be committed and willing to explore new and innovative ways of doing things and able to thrive in such an environment. Your role will be challenging, varied and exciting!
Walsall is an opportunity to make a difference and one you should consider for your next career move.
If you are as passionate about this as we are, we would love to hear from you.
